Prof. Ass. Dr. Fatmir Çollakaj was born on November 17, 1961 in Prizren, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 1985, he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina in the field of “Philosophy and Sociology”. In 1991, he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Zagreb in the Faculty of Philosophy in the field of “Social Ecology”. In the period 2001–2003, he studied for a Master’s degree at the University of Prishtina in the Faculty of Law, specializing in Criminal Law. In 2010, he completed his Master’s degree at the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Sciences, earning the title Master of Criminalistics (Mr.Sc). Further, in 2016, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the European University of Tirana, Faculty of Law, in the field of Criminal Law, being awarded the title Doctor of Legal Sciences – Public Law.
Furthermore, he pursued his second doctoral studies at the University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies (2013–2016).
In 2017, he received the academic title of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, in the Criminal Law group.
His professional experience began in the field of education, working for three years as a professor at the “Gjon Buzuku” Gymnasium in Prizren, from 1994 to 1997. His subsequent experience was in the field of Social Welfare, serving as a researcher at the Institute of Social Policies from 2004 to 2009.
Prof. Çollakaj has also had a long training career since 2012 at the Academy of Justice, an institution responsible for training Judges and Prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo.
Prof. Ass. Dr. Fatmir Çollakaj is an academic and manager with extensive experience in the public, private, and academic sectors in Kosovo and the region. He served for nearly 14 years as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law at AAB College, where he still serves as a full-time Assistant Professor.
Mr. Çollakaj is a prominent public figure, often serving as an analyst and expert on security and crime prevention in Kosovo and regional media, presenting a high-level interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary profile.
Prof. Çollakaj maintains a strong academic presence. Since the academic year 2009/2010, he has been a regular member of the faculty at AAB College, where he lectures on Criminology, Sociology of Law, Applied Criminology, Terrorism, and Organized Crime.
