Laurik Helshani

Prof. Ass. Dr. Laurik Helshani was born on March 5, 1979, in Gjakova, where he also completed his primary and secondary education. In 2007, he graduated from the Vienna University of Technology in the field of “Software Engineering” (https://www.tuwien.at). In 2012, he completed his postgraduate studies at UBT in the field of “Computer Science and Engineering,” earning the title Master of Science in Computer Science (MSc). Later, in 2018, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the European University of Tirana on the topic: “Application of the Genetic Algorithm in Solving the ‘Travelling Businessman Problem’ and Programming Mobile Devices with the Android Operating System,” and was awarded the title Doctor of Economic Sciences and IT (https://uet.edu.al).

As part of his teaching engagement at AAB, he completed the following certified trainings organized by QAP:

His professional experience began in 2007 at Kujtesa.NET, where he founded the programming department. For ten consecutive years, he served as the Programming Manager, during which he developed Kujtesa.NET’s billing system, played a key role in the digitalization of the cable TV service, and implemented automated integration between the billing system and hardware devices (enabling and disabling services automatically through programming).

He then spent another two years as a Senior Programmer, during which he developed the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

From 2017, for over two years, he held the position of Programming Manager at Dardafon L.L.C. (ZMobile), where he developed the company’s intranet, including:

  • A system for archiving phone numbers
  • A system for managing business client contracts and mobile telephony tariffs
  • A system for classifying customer support calls
  • Development of an API to improve and accelerate communication between ZMobile and VALA-Kosova

From January 2020, for three and a half years, he held the position of Programming Manager at Devolli Group, where he developed a system for the digitalization of manufacturing processes, including production planning and real-time data acquisition from machinery sensors. He also developed the GO+ online reward game and the online task delegation system used across the entire corporation.

Since 2018, he has been a full-time professor at AAB College in the Faculty of Computer Science.

From September 2024 to May 2025, he worked remotely as a Senior Programmer for the German company Ingress GmbH, based in Hamburg.
