Pënar Jedrashi

Pënar Jedrashi was born on August 31, 1986, in Prizren, where she completed her primary and secondary education. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina, Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, Department of Biology, with a specialization in Applied Biology. In 2009 she continued her professional development through continuous training in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) at one of Turkey’s most renowned fertility clinics, Istanbul Tup Bebek ve Kadin Sagligi Merkezi.

In 2019, she completed additional modules in Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, Faculty of Medicine. In 2023, she began her postgraduate studies in Health Management (MSc) at AAB College, Faculty of Medical Sciences.

Professional Experience:

Since 2009, Pënar Jedrashi has been practicing as a Clinical Embryologist, making her one of the first professionals in Kosovo with extensive experience in the field of assisted reproduction. After graduating, she began her career at the Special Hospital “Lindja” – Prishtina. Since 2019, she has been working at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, at the Clinic of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Infertility Department with ART, where she is recognized as one of the founders of ART services in the public healthcare sector of Kosovo.

She has been actively involved in higher education and specialized laboratory work, contributing both to the education of new generations in embryology and to the development and functional implementation of advanced ART services in Kosovo.

Throughout her career, she has developed in-depth expertise in all ART laboratory procedures, including IVF, ICSI treatments, gamete and embryo cryopreservation, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) biopsies, and advanced embryology laboratory techniques, collaborating with international institutions and experts.

Her work is supported by her academic background in biological sciences, specialized international training, and commitment to continuous professional development.

She has been an active member of working groups at the Ministry of Health for drafting and implementing strategic plans for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and cytogenetics, as well as developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for ART.

She is a member of prestigious international societies in the field of assisted reproduction, including the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Academic Engagement:

Pënar Jedrashi has been a lecturer at AAB College – Faculty of Medical Sciences since 2023. She currently teaches “Health Education and Promotion” and “Quality in Nursing Care,” focusing on public health, community health education strategies, and mechanisms for ensuring and managing quality in nursing care in line with the study program. She is also engaged in various academic, organizational, and promotional activities at AAB College.

She actively participates in professional training, seminars, and conferences to advance her professional knowledge, academic expertise, and teaching practices.

Volunteer Activities – “Race For the Cure – Prishtina”

Since 2023, Pënar has been an active volunteer for the international campaign “Race For the Cure – Prishtina,” a symbolic event aimed at raising awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer. Within this role, she has contributed to organizing, promoting, and implementing activities to inform and mobilize the community, with a special focus on women and vulnerable groups.

Sports Activities:

In addition to her academic and medical career, Pënar Jedrashi is a former basketball player with 9 years of active experience with the Basketball Club Bashkimi (Women’s) – Prizren. During this period (2000–2009), she was an active part of the team that won several national titles and trophies in women’s basketball in Kosovo.

Her sports background has equipped her with discipline, teamwork, and resilience — qualities she successfully applies in her professional and academic life.

She has one child and lives in Prishtina.
