Taulant Zeka

Taulant Zeka was born on 28 July 1987 in Peja, Republic of Kosovo, completed his primary and secondary education in Peja and began his undergraduate studies in 2006 at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Telecommunications (https://uni-pr.edu/). He completed his Bachelor studies in February 2010, earning the title Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.

Following his undergraduate studies, in 2010 he enrolled in Master’s studies. Alongside his academic path, Taulant Zeka has over fifteen years of professional experience in the telecommunications industry. Since June 2010, during his studies and to date, he has been engaged with the telecommunications company 3CIS J.S.C as a telecommunications network engineer.

He has been involved in various projects for the Vodafone mobile network in the United Kingdom (VF-UK) through the aforementioned company. Some of these projects include: “Backhaul Evolution Project 1 & 2”, “Cable & Wireless and Ethernet to Site Project”, “Flat to Hierarchical Project” and “Capacity Increasing Project”. In all these projects, he has contributed to the planning, design, implementation, and testing of networks using ATM and IP technologies for the 3G mobile network and IP technologies for the 4G mobile network. Since November 2014, he has been working with Charter Communications L.L.C through 3CIS J.S.C, holding the position of Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer and Team Leader. Some of the key projects include: “Charter Communications Mobility Project” and “TWC – Time Warner Cable BAU Project”.

In these projects, he was responsible for the configuration and provisioning of various services on vendor equipment such as Juniper, Cisco, and Alcatel. He also leads the planning, design, implementation, and testing of networks for Charter Communications L.L.C clients.

Professional Experience

His professional experience includes several key roles in the telecommunications and networking industry. He has worked as an Acceptance and Provisioning Engineer with Time Warner Cable through 3CIS J.S.C (2014–2015), where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of Access, Edge, and Core networks, including configuration and support for Metro/Regional Ethernet routing devices.

Earlier, he contributed as a Core Network Engineer in the Vodafone UK project (2012–2014), providing support for global customers in MPLS VPN, IP/MPLS, and ATM networks, focusing on optimization, monitoring, performance improvements, as well as configuration and integration of 2G/3G services.

He is certified as a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (12/2022) and ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management                (https://www.servicenow.com/) (06/2022), along with multiple micro-certifications and developer suite skills covering application development, process design, performance analysis, predictive intelligence, and test management.

Taulant Zeka currently serves as a Lecturer in Computer Networks and Network Security at the Department of Computer Science, AAB College in Prishtina. Since November 2023, he has had the privilege of delivering undergraduate courses, preparing course materials, syllabi, lectures, assignments, and examinations.

In addition to his academic role, Taulant Zeka is actively engaged in advising and mentoring students, as well as collaborating with industry partners and alumni to build bridges between academia and the labor market.

Taulant Zeka is a recognized professional with extensive experience bridging academia, the networking and telecommunications industry institutions and the private sector. He is distinguished for his commitment to quality assurance, technological innovation, and the academic and professional advancement of the institutions he serves.

He is married, has two children, and resides in Prishtina.
