THE CENTER FOR CYBERNETIC SECURITY IS ESTABLISHED WITHIN THE FACULTY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE IN AAB COLLEGE

13 May 2020

AAB College, through the Faculty of Computer Science has continuously updated its programs to meet current requirements related to cyber security issues. The establishment of this center is a decision of the Board of Directors of AAB College.

The Cyber Security program, which operates within the Faculty of Computer Science, is the first program accredited in Kosovo of this type. Through this center, it is our hope to educate young men and women in this very specific field. This program aims to provide students with professional competence in order to be able to practice professions in the relevant field. The idea of the program is to equip students with knowledge of databases, cyber attacks and the measures to be taken to protect against these attacks.

The Cyber Security Center will also serve as a national model for excellence in online security education. Our innovative Curriculum in Computer Science at AAB, Community Extension and Educational Initiatives will also receive attention in the wider region. Innovative project ideas, such as: “Cyber Security Challenges in Developing Countries; case study Kosovo”, “Security and privacy challenges in Ad-Hoc Networks”, projects supported by AAB College, the US Embassy in Kosovo and the Fulbright Program, as well as other ongoing projects, make this center very attractive and professional. The agreement with Capitol Technology University, which on 25.02.2020, received the “National Award for the best cyber security program”, will enable the creation of professional laboratories for cyber security and offers exchange of students and staff. This and other agreements of this nature, as well as the agreements we aim for in the future, make us unique in this area, in Kosovo and beyond.

The Cyber Security Center will be run by Dr.sc. Arianit Maraj.
