The closing conference of the project “The Impact of the European Union in Kosovo”, funded by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions program, was held.
The main goal of this project was to promote European values such as inter-ethnic reconciliation, solidarity, social dialogue, tolerance, diversity and inclusion, as well as democratization and social transformation. Through lectures, research work and information dissemination activities, students have been engaged in a deeper understanding of how these values can contribute to building a democratic society in Kosovo.
The Rector of AAB College, Blerim Olluri, praised the essential role of the European Union in Kosovo, especially in promoting peace, stability and the rule of law. He emphasized that this project has enabled students to recognize the impact of the EU and apply these values in their professional lives.
The conference also gave the floor to the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Venera Llunji, the Project Coordinator, prof. Bashkim Rrahmani, lecturer of the “EU Impact” module, Prof. Mentor Lecaj, professor and Human Rights activist from the “Saint Kliment Ohridski” University in North Macedonia, Goran Ilic, and Afërdita Syla-Shehu from the organization “Community Building Mitrovica (CBM)”.
Then, to share their experiences as part of the project, students Shkurta Statovci and Fioralba Buna were also invited.
The conference concluded with the ceremony of awarding certificates to the students of the last generation who have successfully followed the courses “EU Impact 1” and “EU Impact 2”.
This closing conference marked not only the success of the project, but also the continued commitment of AAB College to educating the new generations on European values and their role in building a more just and inclusive society.
