The effect of the Law on Economic Recovery was the topic of discussion between the Minister of Finance, Hykmete Bajrami and the students of the Faculty of Economics of AAB College.
Minister Bajrami said that the situation of the pandemic has greatly damaged the economy in the country and that after the pandemic, the economic situation will not be the same.
According to Bajrami, the Ministry of Finance has not been able to support all businesses and people in need because the budget allocation was signed on March 5, a period before the country entered lockdown.
Regarding the Law on Economic Recovery, Bajrami stressed that all possibilities have been examined for this law to be at the service of citizens.
Minister Bajrami once again clarified the three-month payment of 300 euros, for employees who were laid off during the pandemic. She said the amount would be given only to employees who were laid off in March, but not to those who would lay off employees just to profit in December.
On the other hand, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Medain Hashani, praised the work that Minister Bajrami has done in the period of approval of the Law on Economic Recovery. According to him, this is a law that has caused a great commotion in Kosovo.
Minister Bajrami also spoke about the provision of anti-COVID-19 vaccine.
“As a country, we are making alliances with other countries to secure the vaccine. “I personally see the vaccine as the most effective measure of economic recovery because I know that when people are vaccinated, we will start relaxing the lockdown measures and the economy will start to return to normal” she said.
Regarding youth and the labor market, Minister Bajrami had a message for the students of AAB College. “Try to be distinguished and unique, read a lot, get additional lessons. Diplomas alone do not guarantee you a job.”
