Prof. Fatmir Ramadani, born on March 16, 1976, in Suhareka, Kosovo, is a Full Professor of English Language and an Assistant Professor of American Literature at the Department of English Language, Faculty of Foreign Languages, AAB College in Prishtina. With extensive experience in higher education and a strong academic background in literary and cultural studies, he has established himself as a prominent scholar in the field of English and American studies in Kosovo and the region.
He earned his Ph.D. in English and American Studies from the University of Graz, Austria, on March 12, 2020. His doctoral dissertation, titled “Land, People, and Albanian Culture in the Focus of Two Anglo-Saxon Women Travellers – Edith Durham and Rose Wilder Lane”, reflects his deep interest in cultural representation and travel narratives. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed both his Master’s (2016) and Bachelor’s (2012) degrees at AAB College in Prishtina.
At AAB College, Prof. Ramadani has taught a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching portfolio includes Advanced Simultaneous Translation, Introduction to Literary Theory, American Literature, British Literature, British and American Civilization, English for Specific Purposes, Victorian Literature, and Translation Practice. His interdisciplinary approach and dedication to academic development have made him a valued educator and mentor.
Prof. Ramadani has also gained considerable international experience through multiple academic visits and collaborations. He has served as a visiting professor and research fellow at the Center for Inter-American Studies at the University of Graz (2022, 2023, 2024) and at the University of Caen, Normandy, France (2024), supported by CEEPUS and Erasmus+ programs. These engagements demonstrate his commitment to international academic exchange and collaborative research.
He serves as a member of the editorial board of the journal English Language, Literature & Culture (ISSN 2575-2413), an international academic journal dedicated to English language and literary studies.
His research interests include English and American literature, cultural identity and diaspora, narrative and representation, travel writing, the works of Edith Durham and Rose Wilder Lane, and symbolism in literature. His scholarly contributions have been widely published in international journals and conference proceedings across Europe.
Among his notable publications is the monograph “Analysis of Two Albanian Language Translation Versions of William Shakespeare’s Masterpiece ‘Romeo and Juliet’” (2024). His articles have appeared in journals such as AJBALSS, IJRD, TOJQI, Res Militaris, Migration Letters, European Journal of English Language and Literature Studies, Orbis Linguarum, and the Eurasian Journal of Applied Linguistics. These publications explore topics such as literary symbolism, translation studies, racial prejudice in American literature, and the influence of romantic poets on modern literary trends.
He has delivered invited lectures and participated in numerous international academic conferences in Austria, France, Albania, and Kosovo. His presentations have addressed a wide range of issues, including the imagery of Shakespeare’s works in Albanian translations, English legal terminology in Kosovo, cultural identity in literary contexts, and the symbolic dimensions of American literature.
Prof. Ramadani is a native speaker of Albanian and is fluent in English, Serbian, and Croatian.
