AAB College honors the life and legacy of Congressman Eliot Engel

AAB College organized a commemorative Academic Roundtable dedicated to the life and legacy of Eliot Engel, one of the strongest supporters of Kosovo and Albanian interests in the United States Congress.

In the opening remarks, the Rector of the College, Dr. Sc. Blerim Olluri, emphasized Eliot Engel’s lasting impact on Kosovo–United States relations, as well as his role in supporting Kosovo’s freedom, democratic development, and international recognition.

Vice Rector for International Relations, Venera Llunji, spoke about Congressman Engel’s continuous commitment to supporting Kosovo within American institutions during and after the 1998–1999 war.

In his speech, Dr. Flamur Gashi praised Eliot Engel’s unwavering support for the Albanian people and described his contribution as an important chapter in strengthening Albanian-American relations.

Dr. Ramë Buja discussed the historical importance of American support for Kosovo, stressing that Eliot Engel remained one of the strongest voices defending Kosovo’s right to freedom, peace, and statehood.

Students Aorena Berisha and Bleonë Brestovci also contributed to the discussion, highlighting the importance of preserving historical memory and understanding the role of international allies in Kosovo’s modern history.

Participants expressed gratitude to the United States for its historic and continued support for Kosovo and welcomed the initiative in the American Congress to name the building of the Embassy of the United States in Pristina after Congressman Eliot Engel, describing it as a meaningful recognition of his extraordinary legacy.
