26 July 2019

The research project of AAB College “Children online in Kosovo, the use of the internet and its experiences” was presented at the Complutense University of Madrid, during the world’s largest communications conference, IAMCR2019. This project, supported by MEST and implemented by AAB professors in cooperation with the University of Perugia, aims to empirically measure the time that Kosovar children spend on the Internet, their experiences and what they consume while using the internet.

Preliminary findings from this first-ever study in Kosovo were presented at the conference in Madrid by Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of AAB College, Hasan Saliu. In order to realize this research project, other AAB professors also lent their support: Saranda Shatri, Zija Rexhepi, Mimoza Kamberi and Prof. Rolando Marini from the Italian University of Perugia. The study included some primary and secondary schools in Kosovo, where dozens of students from AAB College were tasked to survey students.

At the IAMCR conference (International Association for Media and Communication Research) 1700 world-wide communications researchers participated, including well-known names in this area, such as Sonia Livingstone, Katharine Sarikakis, Javier Gomma etc. IAMCR is the organization that collects the largest number of researchers globally in scientific conferences that are organized once a year. Over the years, IAMCR conferences have been held in Oregon, USA, Columbia, Leicester, Montreal, Canada, etc.
