ABB College closed Symposium proceedings of “bio-psycho-social approach to mental health problems”

On the occasion of International Health Day, AAB College closed the symposium proceedings of the topic “bio-psychosocial approach-social approach to mental health problems”, organized by AAB Institute, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology, and that of Social Sciences of AAB College, with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Rector of AAB College, Mr. Lulzim Tafa said that the theme of this conference organized on the occasion of April 7, World Health Day,it is a very signifcant topic to remember the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization.

“It offers us a unique opportunity to mobilize action around a specific health topic that concerns people all over the world,” he said.

Rector Tafa emphasised that organizing of  this Symposium,by Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences  of AAB College aim to promote positive social change in their relevant fields.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health, Izet Sadiku, in his speech said that one of the biggest problems in global health is depression, which according to him, only in the last decade, the number of people affected by this disease is increasing to 20%.

Meanwhile, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mybera Mustafa said that the Government cabinet, having as top-priority economic development of Kosovo, is very aware that the way a country develops in many dimensions, in economic terms, special attention was given to the education system.

At the opening cermony of the proceedings of this symposium were present the representatives of universities from Albania.

Rector of the University of Elbasan “Aleksander Xhuvani” Skender Topi, in his speech said that

achievements of this symposium should be published and forwarded to the relevant structures of the ministries and of the health institutions to serve people on the ground.

He also talked about cooperation with AAB  College  in the organizing of joint research conferences as well as the agreement that was signed today.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Licensing Board in the Ministry of Health, Hysni Bajrami, at the International Health Day, emphasised that such symposia are an aid to understanding the concerns of people in general, but at the same time help the Ministry of Health.

At the opening of this conference were representatives of other universities from Albania, who congratulated AAB for this symposium.

At the end of the ceremony, was signed an  Agreement of Cooperation between AAB College and the University of Elbasan “Aleksander Xhuvani”.

The Scientific Committee of the Symposium of “bio-psycho-social approach to mental health problems”, awarded the three best oral presentations and one of  20 poster  participant presentations.

The symposium is accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kosovo, where active participants in the symposium received 20 points, while passive ones  recieved 15 credit points.
