Today at the Chamber Theater of AAB College, the visit of the American Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, took place, who discussed with the students and answered the many questions they had.
Mr. Hovenier first spoke about the main goals and objectives of the American Embassy in Kosovo, which he said are currently three.
Kosovo’s integration into security structures such as NATO, economic development and good governance were the three points mentioned by the American ambassador, adding that the commitment to fulfill each of them is evident every day.
Then Mr. Hovenier also mentioned the progress that Kosovo has made since the declaration of independence and added that the youth play a key role in the development and prosperity of the country.
“I came here many times before independence and after it, when I think about how Prishtina used to be and I see the youth, I say that if I were an investor I would come to Kosovo immediately and I would leave the potential here, as everyone is impressed with the level their education and knowledge of the English language”, said Hovenier, among other things.
Ambassador Hovenier was asked by the students about the role of diplomacy in global problems; commercial economic relations between Kosovo and the USA; the influence of young people in solving problems in the diplomatic field; liberalization of visas, etc.
At the end of the visit, the rector of AAB College Lulzim Tafa thanked Mr. Hovenier for his presence by giving him one of his books “On Sundays do not call me”.
