The conference will aim at creating a platform that brings together academics, researchers, physical educators, sports scientists, nutritionists, psychologists, physiotherapists, coaches, yoga experts, policy makers etc. who can share their research and experiences in their respective fields.

The conference will be a platform for an international community of experts, who can share and together discuss the state-of-the-art for new research results, the perspectives of future developments, and innovative applications relevant to Sport Sciences.

Accordingly, the conference will promote and encourage interactions among professionals from practice and research related to Sport Sciences. An additional goal in this respect is to promote physical education and sports, creating awareness for a healthy and physically active lifestyle.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Mittag

University of Cologne, Bonn (Germany)

Born 1970; Studies in political science, medieval and modern history and German literature at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn and Oxford 1992-1997, PhD (Dr. phil.) from the University of Cologne in 2000; from 1997 to 2003 research assistant at the Jean Monnet-Chair for Political Science, University of Cologne; 2003-2010 Managing Director (Geschäftsführer) at the Institute for Social Movements of the Ruhr-University Bochum. Since 2011: Chairholder and Head of the Institute of European Sport Development and Leisure Studies at German Sport University Cologne; appointed as Jean Monnet Professor in 2011. 

Major Fields of Research: Sports systems and (international) sport politics, European integration, parties and trade unions. Recent publications: The role of societal actors in shaping a pan-European consciousness. Prof.dr.sci. Ekrem Čolakhodžić

Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Ekrem Čolakhodžić studied sports at the Faculty of Teacher Education at the University “Džemal Bijedić” in Mostar (Bosnia Herzegovina) from 2002 to 2006 upon which he obtained the professional degree of Professor of Sports and Health. He completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Sarajevo which he attended during the period of 2006-2008. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar in 2008. In the period from 2009-2021, he performed the duty of the head of the study group Preschool Education, the duty of the Vice-Dean for Teaching at the Faculty of Teacher Education. As an author and co-author, he has published five (5) books, forty (40) scientific papers in sports, mostly sports training, football and transformation processes. He has published and presented his scientific papers at numerous congresses in the country and abroad. He is actively involved in sports, especially football, and holds a UEFA coaching license (diplomas B and A). He is a lecturer at the training center for NS BiH coaches. He is currently the dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education at the Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar.

Davorin Antonić, Mag.cin., Ph.D Candidate (LARUS SPORT d.o.o. – Croatia)

Born 1972; Davorin Antonić studied kinesiology at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb from 1995. to 1999. (then the Faculty of Physical Education in Zagreb). Since 2000, he has been teaching physical education and health at the 10th Gymnasium in Zagreb, and the High School in Jastrebarsko until 2003., where he introduced for the first time the teaching of heart rate monitoring POLAR in the Republic of Croatia. 2003. founded the sports diagnostics company LARUS SPORT d.o.o. which represents the leading company in the region for sports technology in the field of Sports ergospirometry, motor diagnostics and biomechanics and rehabilitation. From 2006. to 2016. he was an external lecturer at the University of Applied Health Scientes Zagreb, in the subject Basics of motoric transformation. From 2010. to 2012. external associate at the Department of Athletics, Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb. Collaborator of many selections that won medals at the Olympic Games in London 2012, Rio 2016 (Water Polo), Handball 2008 and 2018 European Championships in Croatia, and the World Cup in Russia (2018). He is engaged in science and scientific research in his company LARUS SPORT d.o.o. He has been the president of the Croatian Nordic Walking Association since 2013.

PROF. DR. IÑIGO GONZÁLEZ-FUENTE

University of Cantabria, Santander (Spain)

PhD in Social Sciences with research focus on Political Anthropology (University of Salamanca, 2008); MA in Latin American Studies (University of Salamanca, 2003); BA in Political Sciences (Basque Country University, 1997). He is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Cantabria (Spain); guest lecturer at the MA in Anthropology of Ibero-America at the University of Salamanca (Spain). He has conducted a wide research fieldwork in Latin America, with particular focus on Mexico. Recent publication: Gutiérrez-Chico, F. & González-Fuente, I. (2021). The Performativity of State Non-Recognition in Sports: The Case of Spain over Kosovo, Politics in Central Europe, 17(3), 421-449.

PROF. DR FERNANDO GUTIÉRREZ-CHICO

The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Den Haag (Netherlands)

PhD in Social Sciences with research focus on Anthropology of Sports (University of Salamanca, 2020); MA in Anthropology of Ibero-America (University of Salamanca, 2016); BA in Journalism (Basque Country University, 2012). He is a Lecturer in International Sport Management at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (Spain); guest lecturer at the BA in Spanish Culture and Civilization at the University of Northern Iowa (USA). Research Fellow at the group Sport, Culture and Society (DEPCyS) at the University of La Laguna (Canary Islands, Spain). He has conducted a wide research fieldwork in the Basque Country, with particular focus on the football team Athletic Bilbao. Recent publication: Gutiérrez-Chico, F. & González-Fuente, I. (2021).
