As part of the activities organized by the Faculty of Economics of AAB College to mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week # GEW2020, a discussion was held on the AAB campus of Gjakova on “Challenges of small and medium enterprises during the Covid-19 Pandemic”.

Present in this discussion were interested students who participated both physically and virtually, while respecting the measures in place to prevent infection by Covid-19.

Invited to this discussion was the entrepreneur and consultant, Butrint Batalli, CEO at INOVA – Plastic Pipe Industry.

In the discussion’s opening, the director of the branch of AAB College in Gjakova, Rifat Haxhija, emphasized the challenges of doing business while also speaking about the challenges of SMEs and the difficulties presented during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Further, entrepreneur Batalli listed a range of solutions that can be made for the problems and challenges in doing business that are evident in our country, especially during this pandemic period.

Among other things, Batalli stressed the need to change business models and strategies to suit the circumstances of the time. He also informed the students about the steps to be taken by government institutions, the business community and higher education institutions to facilitate businesses in their requirements during this period, as well as to use the momentum to restructure the country’s economy.

Batalli said it is better to have long-term business plans but frequent reviews so that they are coherent and respond to the needs and circumstances in which the business operates. “Now, since we are in this situation, the right thing to do would be to orient the future by focusing all our energies, not on fighting the old, but on building the new”, said the entrepreneur Butrint Batalli, at the end of the discussion with AAB students.
