Hundreds of citizens from all over Kosovo benefited from free health services by nursing students of AAB College

May 12th – International Nursing Day, is marked with numerous activities by the Faculty of Nursing of AAB College. Organized by the management staff and students of this faculty, this week has set off with actions for voluntary blood donation, with lectures and counseling on health education, and is continuing with the provision of health services to the citizens of the largest centers in Kosovo.

Today’s activities took place in Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjakova, Peja, Suhareka, Malisheva, Lipjan, Podujeva, Mitrovica, Gjilan and Kaçanik. While in the capital, Prishtina, AAB College students provided free health services to citizens in two locations, which were transformed into “improvised ambulances”, in the square “Zahir Pajaziti” and in the PTK plateau.

Hundreds of citizens had the opportunity to benefit from these services, such as measuring blood pressure, measuring blood glucose, healthy life advice, etc..

On this occasion, students and staff were also visited by the Rector of AAB College, Lulzim Tafa with associates, who on this occasion congratulated the students and staff of the Faculty of Nursing for the International Nursing Day.

Whereas, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Idriz Sopjani, said that providing free health services to citizens in all cities of Kosovo is a good form of health promotion and early diagnosis of diseases.

“Nursing students are showing a great willingness to do something now in terms of health education of the population. The more activities of this character will increase the civic awareness for a healthier lifestyle “, stressed Sopjani.

The Faculty of Nursing at AAB College has built a good tradition in marking the International Nursing Day, being close to the citizens in order to maintain health.

Nursing development trends are oriented to the nurse in the provision of services in the community, therefore AAB College is orienting students in gaining competencies in the provision of services in the community through these activities.
