International Scientific Conference on: “Linguistics, Literature and Culture” of AAB College ended up its workings!

On the occasion of 400 anniversary of the death of Shakespeare (William Shakespeare), Faculty of English Language of AAB College, held an international scientific conference on:”Linguistics, Literature and Culture”, organized in partnership with the Embassy of United States of America in Kosovo, Faculty of Foreign languages of the University of Tirana (UT), University “Aleksander Moisiu”, Durres (AMU), Faculty of English language and Literature at the University of South East Europe (SEE University), English language Teachers Association (ELTA), and Kosovo English Teachers Network (Ketna, etc.).

In his opening speech at the opening of the conference, rector of AAB College, prof. dr. Lulzim Tafa said that for about a decade and a half of establishment, AAB  College has become an important academic and scientific, not only in Kosovo but also in the wider region.

“Scientific component is necessary for our society the way to Europe, where we as a society and intend to have a dignified and well-deserved state. Knowing the importance of science and its role in general, AAB College has paid special attention to capacity building to enhance the internal components, said: the rector, Tafa. Meanwhile, Venera Llunji, dean of the Faculty of English Language faculty said that this so far has produced many English teachers, translators, and even journalists. She added that the field of English language and literature, at AAB enriches through activities and scientific level conferences.

Since 2016 marks the 400th anniversary of the death of Shakespeare, the plenary session was opened by his deeds, by presented papers by distinguished scholars of Shakespearean literature to proceed further with the papers in linguistics, English and American literature, teaching methodology, intercultural studies etc.

At the plenary session, papers were presented by prof. dr. Andrew Goodspeed and prof. dr. Refik Kadija, prof. dr. Viktor Ristani, and Prof. dr. Shpresa Delija.

Besides the plenary session and the closing session, the conference took place in six parallel sessions, where presented over 80 participants – researchers and professionals from the fields mentioned above.
