Edona Krasniqi is a PhD candidate in Computer Science. She brings extensive international and local experience in information technology, education, and innovation.
Born and raised in Ferizaj, she completed her primary and secondary education in her hometown. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from South East European University in Tetovo, North Macedonia, in 2008. In 2015, she began her Master’s studies in Information Systems Management at the University of Salford in Manchester, United Kingdom, successfully completing them in 2018. Concurrently, during 2017–2018, she also earned a Master’s degree in the Application of ICT in Teaching from South East European University. She is currently completing her PhD at the same university.
Her career is marked by continuous engagement across the technology, education, and innovation sectors. From 2008 to 2015, she worked on international projects with renowned companies such as KBR Corporation and Fluor Corporation, serving as a Database Manager at military bases in Kosovo and Afghanistan. In this role, she developed and managed advanced systems for data automation and project management.
Upon returning to Kosovo, she transitioned into the education sector. Since 2016, she has served as an ICT teacher at the secondary school Kuvendi i Arbërit in Ferizaj. Starting in 2022, she joined the academic staff at AAB College, where she teaches in both the Computer Science and Social Sciences departments.
In addition to her academic commitments, Edona Krasniqi is an active figure in the field of innovation. In November 2023, she co-founded the KED Innovation Center in Ferizaj – a hub for the development of startups, tech training, and service provision for businesses and individuals.
Her contribution to scientific research has been demonstrated through participation and presentations at notable international conferences such as the Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO). Her published work covers topics including cloud data security, evaluation of e-learning systems in Kosovo, and global data analysis.
Most recently, her research has been accepted for presentation at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Metrology for eXtended Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Neural Engineering (IEEE MetroXRAINE), which will be held from October 22–24, 2025 in Ancona, Italy. The accepted paper, titled “A Survey on Extended Reality in Disaster Management: Integrating XR, IoT, and Machine Learning for Enhanced Situational Awareness”, offers a comprehensive overview of how emerging technologies can be integrated to improve disaster preparedness and response through enhanced situational awareness.
Edona Krasniqi represents a modern academic and tech professional who merges practical expertise, scientific research, and a strong dedication to education with a forward-thinking vision of transformation through innovation. She is a prominent example of women’s engagement in STEM and a key contributor to the development of Kosovo’s ICT ecosystem.
She lives in Ferizaj and remains fully committed to advancing her academic, technological, and entrepreneurial career.
