Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nakije Kida – Education
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nakije Kida was born on 03 March 1968 in Cërmjan, Gjakova, Kosovo. She completed her primary education in her hometown, at the Cërmjan primary school. She began her secondary education at the “Hajdar Dushi” High School in Gjakova, where she completed the first two years in the general direction, while she completed the remaining two years in the economics direction, at the “Luigj Gurakuqi” High School of Economics in Klina, Kosovo. This early educational formation created the foundation for her further professional development in the field of economics and finance.
In 1996, she graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pristina, majoring in “Economics of the Organization of Joint Labor”, with the thesis topic “Staff Selection in Economic Organizations”, https://ekonomiku.uni-pr.edu/. In 2011, she completed her Master’s degree (MSc) in Finance, earning the title of Master of Economic Sciences at the University of Pristina, https://ekonomiku.uni-pr.edu/. Her master’s thesis is titled “Value Added Tax, Its Implementation and Effects in the Republic of Kosovo”, addressing in depth the challenges and effects of the tax system on the country’s economy.
In 2016, she earned the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences at the European University of Tirana, Albania, https://uet.edu.al/. Her dissertation “The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Gross Domestic Product in Kosovo”, https://uet.edu.al/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/NAKIJE_KIDA.pdf, is an important scientific contribution on the role of foreign capital in the economic development of Kosovo.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nakije Kida has followed a steady academic career path, advancing in the university hierarchy through her dedication to teaching and scientific research:
Assistant Professor – from 2017 to present: In this role, she has contributed to curriculum development, lecturing and mentoring students in areas such as public finance, taxation and accounting.
Associate Professor – from 2021 to present: With this advanced academic title, she has further deepened her commitment to scientific research, publications and student support at the master’s and doctoral levels, reflecting the quality and impact of her work on higher education and the academic community.
Professional and academic experience:
During a career spanning over three decades, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Nakije Kida has built a consolidated professional profile in the fields of tax administration, higher education and economic education, combining practical experience with academic commitment.
She began her career in 1992 as a teacher at the “Kadri Kusari” High School of Economics in Gjakova, where until 2000 she made a significant contribution to the education of new generations in the field of economics, laying the foundations of knowledge for many students who later became involved in public administration and the private sector.
From 2000 to 2017, she served as a Tax Inspector for Control at the Tax Administration of Kosovo (ATK), within the Ministry of Finance. During this period, she has gained deep experience in tax control, financial analysis of businesses, as well as in the assessment of fiscal legal compliance. She has been an active part in the implementation of the country’s tax policies, significantly contributing to strengthening the institutional capacities of TAK and increasing fiscal transparency in Kosovo.
In the academic year 2013–2014, she taught the course “Financial Analysis” at FAMA College in Prizren, where she helped students develop practical skills in interpreting financial statements and assessing the performance of enterprises.
Since 2017, she has been a full-time lecturer at AAB College, Faculty of Economics, https://aab-edu.net/fakultet/ekonomik/stafi-akademik/, in Prishtina, in the fields of finance, accounting and taxation. In this role, Ms. Kida is dedicated to the professional preparation of students, combining theoretical knowledge with her extensive practical experience in the public and academic sectors.
In addition to her engagement in higher education and scientific research, since 2023, she has been serving as a Financial Expert at the Kosovo Judicial Council, https://md.rks-gov.net/ekspertet-gjyqesor/, where she provides professional expertise in financial and economic matters, supporting the judicial system in matters that require advanced interpretation of financial data and economic assessments.
This combination of her extensive experience in public administration, education and financial expertise positions Ms. Nakije Kida as a figure of authority and influence in professional and institutional developments in the field of economy and finance in Kosovo.
The Scientific Contribution of Prof. Assoc. Dr. Nakije Kida
Prof. Assoc. Dr. Nakije Kida has built a stable and respected career in the field of scientific research, with a significant contribution to the development of academic thought in the transition economy, foreign direct investment (FDI), fiscal policies, consumption, remittances and economic growth in Kosovo and the Balkan region and beyond. She is the author and co-author of over 40 scientific papers published in journals indexed in international platforms such as SCOPUS, Web of Science (WoS), EBSCO, DOAJ, WorldCat, and others with impact factor.
In addition to scientific articles, she has published the book “Application and effect of VAT tax in Republic of Kosovo” in 2014 in LAP Lambert Academic Publishing, http://www.lap-publishing.com/, which deals with the impact of VAT in Kosovo compared to over 150 other countries. Nakije Kida has also contributed to the scientific literature through the publication of Chapter VI in the book “Emerging Trends in Banking and Finance”, published by Springer in 2018, https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-01784-2_6. In this chapter, she analyzes the evaluation of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Central Europe, Southeastern Europe and Kosovo, linking them to economic growth rates and key economic indicators. This study emphasizes the importance of FDI in regional economic development and contributes to a deeper understanding of the impact of foreign investment on the economic development of these countries.
