As part of its academic activities, the Faculty of Computer Sciences welcomed Professor Nysret Musliu from the University of Vienna, who delivered a lecture on the topic “AI and Optimization for Sustainable Applications.”
During the lecture, Professor Musliu addressed the role of artificial intelligence and optimization techniques in the development of sustainable applications. He presented concrete examples from various fields, including staff management, the organization of production processes, and the reduction of food waste.
Furthermore, the main optimization techniques were introduced, including modeling, exact and heuristic approaches, as well as the use of hybrid methods.
The lecture concluded with the emphasis that artificial intelligence and optimization are not only theoretical concepts, but practical solutions that are directly contributing to the development of more efficient and sustainable systems.
