29 May 2026

Within the framework of the Jean Monnet project “EU-Health Acquis”, supported by the European
Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, and the Master’s Programme in Health Management, a roundtable
discussion was organized to present the interim report “Basic Performance Indicators of the Healthcare
System in Kosovo.”
The report was developed through collaboration between academic staff and students of the Faculty of
Health Sciences, focusing on the analysis of the performance of Kosovo’s healthcare system and its
alignment with European Union standards and priorities.
During the event, participants discussed key developments and challenges related to healthcare
financing, the healthcare workforce, data availability, as well as the monitoring and evaluation of health
indicators.
Representatives from the Ministry of Health and the Legal Office also participated in the roundtable,
contributing to discussions on the development of healthcare policies in Kosovo and their harmonization
with European standards.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening health information systems, advancing
mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating reforms, and designing evidence-based policies within the
framework of the European integration process.
The event also served as a platform for promoting the active involvement of students in the analysis of
healthcare policies and the development of professional capacities in the field of health management.
The roundtable was highly appreciated for its role in strengthening interinstitutional cooperation and
reaffirming the contribution of academia to the development and advancement of Kosovo’s healthcare
system.
