AAB College continues to strengthen its presence in the international academic arena by participating in
the event “SMK EcoVibe – International Collaboration Event,” held in Kaunas, Lithuania.
At this international event, the Faculty of Economics was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Besime Ziberi, who presented a paper titled “Bridging Higher Education and the Green Labor Market: Preparing Future Skills for a Sustainable Economy.” The presentation focused on one of the most pressing global issues:
the connection between higher education and labor market demands in the context of the transition toward a green economy.
During the presentation, the role of the green economy was discussed as a development model aimed at reducing carbon emissions, increasing resource efficiency, and promoting sustainability. In this context, it was emphasized that global transformations related to climate change are directly impacting the structure of the labor market, creating new demands for skills and emerging professions in sectors such as renewable energy, green construction, and the circular economy.
In the context of the Western Balkans, the presentation highlighted both the challenges and opportunities associated with the green transition, including the need for more advanced policies, institutional support, and investments in scientific research and innovation.
Participation in this international event demonstrates the commitment of AAB College and the Faculty of Economics to internationalization, the development of scientific research, and active contribution to addressing global challenges related to sustainable development and the future of the labor market.
