The Book Club of the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized the “Meet the Author” event with Dearta Logu Fusaro, author of The Illyrian Way (2025), where they held an open dialogue between themselves and the writer. During this event, the author presented her book and promoted literature that connects travel with identity and heritage.
The book traces the author’s journey through the Western Balkans and her effort to understand her Albanian roots. This activity advanced the understanding of the travel memoir genre and empowered the students’ mindset to reflect on their own culture.
During the session, students asked many questions about the writing process, the challenges of travel, and how the author’s journey has shaped her beliefs about Albanian identity. Fusaro’s reflections on history and identity linger in the mind, encouraging essential reading for anyone interested in the Balkans.
The faculty supported such initiative, which tend to build bridges between authors and studnets through interactive platforms.
