The Faculty of Health Sciences organizes a roundtable discussion for International Nurses Day

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, the Faculty of Health Sciences at AAB College organized an international roundtable discussion on the topic: “Strengthening the Role of Nurses in Home Healthcare: Lessons from the Albanian Model and Implications for Kosovo.”

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ass. Dr. Idriz Sopjani, who emphasized the importance of the role of nurses in advancing healthcare services and the need to develop home healthcare as part of a modern healthcare system.

The Vice-Rector of AAB College, Venera Llunji, welcomed all participants and highlighted the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of professional experiences in the field of nursing.

Also present at the roundtable was the Director of the Directorate of Health in Prishtina, Bujar Gashi, who spoke about the importance of developing healthcare services in Prishtina and the continuous need to improve services for citizens.

Following this, Prof. Sajmira Aderaj presented experiences from Albania regarding home healthcare. She discussed the development of this service over the years and its impact on improving patients’ quality of life.

Afterwards, Joana Campos from Portugal presented the international perspective on community care and the role of nurses. She shared successful European practices and models, emphasizing the importance of empowering nurses in community services and preventive care.

The discussion panel also included representatives of institutions and healthcare professionals, among them: Genc Ymerhalili, representative from AQH; Dr. Sahadete Kelmendi, Head of Home Care Services; Nyrtene Ademi Jupolli, Head Nurse of Home Care Services; Mimoza Marevci, Coordinator for Home Care Services in Ferizaj; Edona Gara, Teaching Coordinator; and Lirije Beqiri, representative from QKUK.
