Open call for AAB College students to apply to the Executive Education Program in Interior Design and Product Innovation

All AAB College students are invited to apply by May 23 to the Executive Education Program in Interior Design and Product Innovation.

The Executive Education Program in Interior Design and Product Innovation has been designed by AAB College professors, in collaboration with professors from the University of Bologna, the Polytechnic University of Milan, professionals from Shehu Academy and local experts.

This program is supported by USAID Kosovo Compete Activity, which includes the theoretical part that will be implemented in the spaces of the AAB college and the practical part that will be realized in the working spaces of Shehu Academy.

General information about the project

The Executive Education Program in Interior Design and Product Innovation has been designed by the professors of AAB College, in collaboration with professors from the University of Bologna, the Polytechnic University of Milan, professionals from Shehu Academy and local experts. All parties involved have contributed by revealing their activity and professionalism in the design and processing of wood.

The program includes the theoretical part that will be implemented in the spaces of AAB College and the practical part that will be realized in the working spaces of Shehu Academy. This program is supported by the USAID Kosovo Compete Activity.

The modules that will be developed are:

Drawing and sketching techniques

Cad Cam software

Knowledge about the history of furniture

Contemporary design trends

Wood and its by-products

Furniture constructions

Contemporary methods of surface processing

Woodworking machines and tools

Safety at work and

Introduction to carpentry

The program will be finalized with a virtual fair with companies operating in Italy, to get to know their work practices and the latest innovations in this sector.

Objective

The main objective of this program is to raise the practical work capacity of participating students, so that they are better prepared to respond successfully to the needs and demands of the labor market. Students will have the opportunity to follow an innovative program that brings together local and European expertise, offering professional development opportunities.

Part of the first generation that will attend this program will be 30 (thirty) participants, of which 15 (fifteen) places are reserved for students who already work in the wood processing industry, while 15 (fifteen) places for others are reserved for students of AAB college and other colleges/universities.

Program benefits

The participants in this program will be provided with a certificate for the realization of the Executive Program. Students who will follow this program will be exempted from following the same or similar subjects, during the registration of master’s studies in the branch of Architecture and Arts offered at AAB College.

As the program focuses on the development of the candidate’s three main skills: general (cutting, color, construction, etc.), technological (illustration, mechanical process) and organizational skills, after completing the program the candidates will be able to work in an independent in the field of wood industry from product design to production, using different machines and software.

Duration of the program

The duration of the program will be as follows: the first part where the academic part of the program will be implemented with professors from AAB College, the University of Bologna and the University of Milan, will last a minimum of 8 (eight) weeks, as well as 8 (eight) other weeks where the practical part of the program will be implemented in Shehu Group.

Application conditions and criteria

All Kosovar candidates who have completed their university education in the field of Design or are employed in this field are eligible to apply for this program.

Candidates from other countries can also be accepted in this module under the same competition conditions as candidates from Kosovo.

Candidates from the academy who have completed bachelor’s studies or are pursuing studies in one of these directions, as well as candidates who are employed in a design studio who have at least two years of work experience in:

Architecture, Interior, Industrial design, Furniture design, Integrated design and similar.

Industry candidates who are employed in the woodworking industry, such as carpentry, furniture showrooms, etc.

Method of selection of candidates

The selection of candidates for the program in wood processing will be made according to the following criteria:

For candidates from the academy:

Average grade;

Evidence that they are engaged in the design studio for at least 2 years.

For industry candidates:

Evidence/consent from employer
