Ilir Bytyçi

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Ilir Bytyçi was born on November 20, 1974, in Lipjan, where he completed both his primary and secondary education. In 2000, he graduated in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Prishtina, field in “Banking and Finance” (https://uni-pr.edu/). In 2010, he completed his postgraduate studies at the same institution in the field of “Management and Informatics,” earning the title of Master of Economic Sciences (Mr.Sc). In 2005, through his involvement with the Kosovo Telecommunications Company – VALA, he completed the Young Executive Training Program, a collaboration between the University of Hull, London, and the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology & Kosovo Telecom – VALA. In 2019, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the European University of Tirana, titled: “The Role of Management in the Success of Public Enterprises – Case Study of Kosovo Telecom – VALA”, and was awarded the title Doctor of Economic Sciences, specializing in Management (https://uet.edu.al).

His professional career began in an international context, initially at the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) office in Kukës, Albania, in 1999, and later at the UNHCR headquarters in Prishtina until 2003 (https://www.unhcr.org/). From 2003 to June 2022, Prof. Bytyçi held a long-standing career at Kosovo Telecom – VALA (https://kosovotelecom.com/), where he held several key managerial positions, such as: Customer Financial Manager, Billing Project Manager, Revenue Assurance Manager, Internal Control Manager, Financial Coordinator in the CEO’s Office, Total Quality Management (TQM) Manager, as well as the leader and creator of several other strategic projects.

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Ilir Bytyçi is an academic and senior manager with extensive experience in the public, private, and academic sectors in Kosovo and the region. He currently holds the position of Vice-Rector at AAB College (https://aab-edu.net/) and is a member of the Board of RTK (https://www.rtklive.com). With a rich career spanning the management of public and private enterprises, the development of higher education, and involvement in culture, arts, and media, he represents a high-level multidisciplinary and visionary profile.

He has held and continues to hold high leadership positions in various institutions. From 2017 to 2019, he was Chairman of the Board of “The British School of Kosovahttps://britishschoolkosova.com/). From 2020 to 2021, he was appointed a member of the RTK Board, and from 2021 to 2024, he served as Chairman of the Board of ATV Radio Television https://atvlive.tv/). Simultaneously, since 2021, he has served as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Governing Council at AAB College, and as of 2025, he has been appointed Vice-Rector of the institution.

Prof. Bytyçi has an active academic profile. Since the academic year 2011/12, he has been a regular staff member at AAB College, where he lectures in subjects related to management and economics, such as: Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Entrepreneurship & SMEs, Human Resource Management, International Business, Total Quality Management (TQM), Statistics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Banking Management, among others.

Culture and Arts – Beyond his academic and managerial spheres, Prof. Dr. Bytyçi is also actively engaged in culture and the arts. From 2020 to 2024, he served as Director of the AAB Theatre “Faruk Begolli” (https://teatriaab.com). In 2020, he co-produced the television series “Tre Vllaznit” (https://www.facebook.com/trevllaznit), and since 2023, he has been Executive Producer of the Prishtina International Theatre Festival – PITF (https://pitf.teatriaab.com/). He is also a producer and co-producer of several theatre performances for both adults and children.

Cultural and Artistic Visits – In July 2024, he represented the AAB Theatre “Faruk Begolli” at the Festival d’Avignon in France, one of the world’s largest performing arts festivals (https://festival-avignon.com/).

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Ilir Bytyçi is a prominent figure with broad experience and interconnection between academia, institutions, public & private enterprises, corporate governance, and media and cultural development. He is known for his dedication to quality, innovation, and advancement of the institutions he serves.

 

He is married, has two children, and lives in Prishtina.
