Ylber Prekazi

Prof. Ass. Dr. Ylber Prekazi was born on October 3, 1985, in Mitrovica, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 2005, he began his studies at the Faculty of Economics at AAB University as part of the first generation of students in the “Banking, Finance and Accounting” program, graduating in 2008. In 2009, he continued his postgraduate studies at the same institution—then named AAB-Riinvest College—specializing in “Financial Markets and Banking,” where he earned the title Master in Financial Markets and Banking. As part of his academic advancement, in 2019 he commenced doctoral studies at the South East European University in North Macedonia and, in 2022, successfully defended his dissertation entitled “The Impact of Financial Reporting on the Financial Performance of Trading Companies in the Republic of Kosovo”, earning the title Doctor of Science in Economics. His professional and academic career began immediately after completing his bachelor’s studies in 2008, when he was engaged as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics of AAB University, as one of the most distinguished students of the institution’s first generation. To date, he has accumulated 17 years of experience in higher education within AAB College—one of the largest and most renowned institutions in Kosovo. Throughout this period, Prof. Prekazi has held various managerial and academic positions. In addition to his work as a lecturer and researcher, he has served in the following roles: 2008–2012: Student Internship Coordinator; 2012–2018: Teaching and Quality Assurance Coordinator at the Faculty of Economics. In the area of teaching, he served as: 2008–2012: Assistant in subjects such as Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Financial Management, Financial Analysis, and Auditing; 2012–2024: Lecturer in the same group of subjects; Since 2024: Appointed as Assistant Professor in the field of accounting and financial reporting. He currently teaches the courses Accounting and Managerial Accounting at the bachelor’s level, and Financial Reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards at the master’s level.

Since 2017, Prof. Prekazi has served as the Executive Director of the AAB Institute for Certified Accountants and Auditors (https://institutiaab.org/). He is also a member of the Education Committee within the same institute. In addition, he serves as an external expert member of the Audit Committee of the insurance company Prisig (https://prisig-ks.com/ballina), and acts as an advisor in accounting, financial reporting, and taxation for several commercial companies in Kosovo.

In addition to his professional engagements, he is an active member of the sports community, particularly in mountain running. Prof. Ass. Dr. Ylber Prekazi represents a well-integrated figure between academia and practice, with a strong commitment to quality, professional development, and the advancement of educational and economic institutions in Kosovo.
He is married, has two children, and lives in Mitrovica.
