Prof. Ass. Dr

Naim Ismajli

Prof. Ass. Dr. Sc. Naim Ismajli was born and currently resides in Shtime, where he has long been engaged in public, academic, and institutional life. In 1989, he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Prishtina. In 2008, he completed his Master’s studies in Management and Informatics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina (https://uni-pr.edu/). Later, in 2015, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the European University of Tirana on the topic: “Human Resources in Local Governance in Kosovo”, earning the title Doctor of Science in Economics, Management, and Informatics (https://uet.edu.al).

Prof. Ismajli has had a long career in the public-political sector and local governance. He served as Director for Agriculture in the Municipality of Shtime (2000–2001), then as Chief Executive Officer of the same municipality (2001–2007), and from 2007 until 2021 he was Mayor of Shtime. During his tenure, he oversaw administration and finances, implemented the legal acts of the municipal assembly, delegated responsibilities to directors, and coordinated strategic management of local and regional projects. Additionally, from 2012 to 2018, he served as President of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, and in 2017 he was elected President of NALAS – the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-East Europe.

In the academic field, Prof. Ismajli has been a lecturer at AAB College since 2012, teaching Strategic Management and Human Resource Management at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. He has also lectured at the Public University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren. The subjects he has covered include: Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Public Finance, Career Development, International Management, and Marketing.

Prof. Ismajli is a public figure with extensive experience in managing public institutions and developing human capacities. He has strong proficiency in foreign languages – English, Serbian, and Croatian (B2 level) – and excellent skills in communication, negotiation, conflict management, organization, and decision-making. He also has advanced knowledge in computer programs such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SPSS. He holds a Category B driving license and is well-known for his dedication and professionalism in all areas of his work. He is married and the father of three children.
